If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Unless, of course, your name is Joshua Stone and your tools include a sewing machine and a can of paint.

The artist combines collage and aerosol art, using cut, torn, snipped, and sliced pieces of printed paper reassembled with enamel, acrylic, and thread to create unique works. His style, which evolved from a youth spent painting street graffiti and murals, is influenced by typography and architecture and aims to be both familiar and cryptic.

Finishing touch: Each piece is mounted in an antique Baroque frame that’s been spray painted and lacquered. The result is one perfectly put-together painting that’s bound to stand the test of time.

Just read the writing on the wall.
